Running toilets and unexpected refilling
A toilet that continues running or refills when no one has used it may be losing water from the tank into the bowl. Often called ghost flushing, that sound can be the tank refilling rather than a complete flush. Internal parts need inspection to identify the cause.
Depending on the fault, toilet repair can involve a flapper, fill valve, flush valve, handle or tank-to-bowl seal. Tell us when you hear the water and whether it stops on its own. The symptom gives useful context, but it does not identify the failed part by itself.
